We believe people suffering from dementia deserve the best possible quality of life. This means more than just excellent medical care and a safe environment. We want their experience to be more like living in a family home than an institution.
Small is beautiful
Places in our Dementia Friendly Wings are limited. This helps our dedicated carers to concentrate on building personal relationships with each resident. We have the skills and time to work closely with families in planning the best individual care for their loved ones.
Free but safe
Our Dementia Friendly Wings have been expertly designed to maximise resident’s independence and freedom of choice while minimising disorientation and the risk of accidents. Residents can move as they please between the privacy of their en-suite bed-sitting rooms, and the communal lounges and gardens.
Special features include:
• Spacious corridors and ramps for disabled access
• Contrasting primary colours on walls, floors and doors to aid orientation
• Therapeutic memory-work activities including music play
All staff at Hometrust Care Limited are direct employees which helps to create continuity in care and a family atmosphere. A high proportion of our team hold NVQ qualifications in care. Those working with dementia receive on-going specialist training.
