Training Opportunities:
Congratulation to all the staff who have been successful gaining their NVQ levels 3 and level 2 in Care this year and a big thank you to Carlisle College for working with us to achieve this. We have a special relationship with Carlisle College which means that they come into the Home so as to fit in study with the family or personal commitments of our staff.

If you have a passion or specialist interest in aspects of care for older people Hometrust Care Ltd is happy to offer support with tuition fees, study leave and mentorship to enable you to develop this. We are presently supporting staff in professional training, including Dementia Awareness and Care (CHESS programme), Palliative Care, Registered Managers Award, Health and Safety, advanced level food hygiene, First Aid and Training for Trainers Programmes.

New ‘Dementia Friendly' Wings
We are currently expanding and upgrading our care homes in response to local demand for high quality specialist services for older people. This will give rise to new career opportunities in all our homes.

These ‘state of the art’ dementia friendly wings will be opening throughout 2007 -2008 –
Silver Howe in Kendal (opening Sept 2007);
Parkfield in Carlisle (opening February 2008) and
Nether Place in Keswick (opening Sept 2008).
